Bystander Punches Cop Trying To Detain Woman In Harlem

Man tries to take revenge for woman being arrested by NYPD in Harlem today

Well, at least he didn’t get himself killed.

26 year old Terrell Mitchell observed Asia Banks, 38, being arrested near the corner of 144th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard and began shouting, “that’s my sister!”, as officers were struggling to subdue Banks.

In a video from NYC’s Channel 11 News, a video that allegedly shows Mitchell punching a male officer repeatedly in the back of the head after pulling a female officer off of Banks.

Mitchell, who lives with Banks near the area where the incident took place, ran from the scene, but was later apprehended. He and Banks both face a number of criminal charges, including assault on a police officer.

Both of the officers were treated for minor injuries and released from Harlem Hospital.
