The Kardashian/Jenner family is one of the most powerful in American entertainment right now, and it looks as if they’re sinking their tentacles even deeper into popular culture. Kylie Jenner, the youngest of the primary generation of reality stars, is reportedly working on a new album with some help from Tyga, the rapper who is widely rumored to be her boyfriend. (The relationship has been controversial due to the age gap between the pair and especially the fact that Kylie has not yet turned 18.) According to an Us Weekly item, Jenner has been hard at work recording an album that a source says is reminiscent of Tinashe. Though she has never released a recorded track, the source cites Kylie’s mother, Kris Jenner, saying that Kylie has been enrolled in vocal lessons and is sounding “amazing.” The piece reports that Tyga has been aiding Kylie in the writing process and notes that she has changed her Instagram bio to read “King Kylie,” possibly an oblique reference to Tyga’s Last Kings imprint.
While her older half-sister Kim Kardashian remains a tabloid fixture, it’s actually Kylie’s father who has grabbed the most headlines of late. Caitlyn Jenner, formerly Bruce, the winner of the gold medal in the decathlon at the 1976 Montreal Olympics, has made public her transition into living as a woman. The first public announcement came with a Diane Sawyer interview (given as Bruce), followed by a Vanity Fair cover story in which she announced her name as Caitlyn.
