Fashawn’s most recent effort, The Ecology, was nothing if not a comeback story. The one-time wunderkind, whose 2009 debut Boy Meets World earmarked him as one of California’s most promising young MCs, finally released the long-awaited album via Nas’ Mass Appeal Records. It included some of the industry’s heaviest hitters, including Mr. Jones himself. Also present in the liner notes was Busta Rhymes, who provided a hook for a song called “Out the Trunk.” Now, the cross-generational duo has teamed up for a remix; this time, Busta doesn’t hold back, going in for an entire verse of his own. Busta continues to be in a class of his own when it comes to maintaining a modicum of innovation while barreling forward with the style he rocked two decades ago.
