Iggy Azalea recently announced that her first headlining arena tour would be postponed from its announced April start until September. Dubbed The Great Escape Tour, her reps cited production delays as the reason for the rescheduling. Now, Iggy has elaborated on that front in a candid interview on the subject for Los Angeles’ 97.1 AMP Radio. “I am a psychopath,” Azalea said. “It is my first arena tour, so it’s a big undertaking and I’m doing a lot of the creative direction, which I do for everything.” She added, “It’s tough when it’s your first time working on an arena situation.” Lamenting that the stage she wants to take on tour would take upwards of six months to build–and hasn’t yet been put into construction–the timing was simply an impossibility.

The “Fancy” rapper explained that she had weighed the decision carefully, and didn’t revel in canceling dates that her fans had already set aside. “To get this stage done in time, I would be making a lot of sacrifices and cuts and changes and compromises,” the Australian explained. “I want to move it and have the absolute best show, the show I envisioned.” Nick Jonas and Tinashe, who had previously been confirmed as support acts on The Great Escape Tour, have each separately confirmed that they will no longer be joining Iggy on the North American swing. New opening acts have yet to be announced.
