‘Views’ Was Released On This Day A Year Ago

The day was April 29th, 2016 and Drake blessed the world with his highly anticipated fourth studio album, Views.

His hit singles “Hotline Bling”, “One Dance” featuring Wiz Kid and Kyla, and “Controlla” featuring Popcaan were dominating the air waves. However, the official album version of “Controlla” featured Beanie Man instead. There was also a leaked version of “Pop Style” featuring Jay-Z and Kanye West, that never made it to the album.

Views spent 13-consecutive weeks on Billboard 200, and became the first album on Apple Music to accumulate one billion streams.

Chuck Schumer Marks Trump’s First 100 Days With Scathing Playlist

New York senator Chuck Schumer marked Donald Trump‘s 100th day as president with a scathing, tongue-in-cheek Spotify playlist.

“Music has meant so much these #Trump100days. Shirelles, Springsteen & more here’s my Spotify #100days playlist,” the prominent Democratic senator tweeted.

The 32-song playlist is stocked with songs that are slyly critical of Trump’s administration so far: The Eagles’ “Lyin’ Eyes,” the Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again,” John Legend’s “Same Old Story,” B.B. King’s “Fool Me Once” and Loverboy’s “Working for the Weekend,” a jab at Trump’s near-weekly Mar-a-Lago trips.

A smattering of artists who notably came out against the mogul on the campaign trail – Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Beyonce and John Mellencamp – are featured on the playlist as well.

Schumer also showed off his contemporary tastes with picks by Tame Impala (“New Person, Same Old Mistakes”), Lady Gaga (“Million Reasons”), James Blake (“Life Round Here”) and Solange (“Weary”). Drake’s “Hotline Bling” also made the cut, likely a nod to Trump’s Saturday Night Live parody of the track.

Kodak Black Was Dropped From Future’s ‘Nobody Safe Tour’

It doesn’t look like Kodak Black will be tagging along Future’s Nobody Safe Tour as originally expected. Future tweeted an updated flyer of the concert and there’s no sign of Kodak.

Although Kodak’s lawyer is expecting the “Tunnel Vision” rapper to be released soon, it doesn’t look like concert promoters are holding their breath. A$AP Ferg will now be touring alongside Future, Migos, and Tory Lanez.

Kodak was found guilty on five charges of violating his house arrest terms. On May 4th, we will find out if he has to face eight years or will be let off with a slap on the wrist.

Lil Wayne Says Tha Carter V is On The Way

The Roc is still alive

Eaarlier this month, Lil Wayne confirmed that he is in fact a part of Roc Nation. After saying F Cash Money on numerous occasions, Wayne officially joined the Roc team. The rapper first discussed connections with the Roc at a Slippery Rock University show earlier this month. Shortly after he spoke with Skip Bayless about the connection but was very vague about what some would call a “proper deal” with Roc Nation. Wayne did however, did say Jay Z was doing all he could to help.

During a show in Dallas last night, Wayne wasted no time in showcasing his affiliation with Roc Nation. “C5 coming soon,” he told the crowd, right before he pulled the F card on his former label, “F***Cash Money! It’s the Roc!” Tha Carter V has long been delayed but hearing this news straight from Wayne’s mouth is great news.

While we’re all well aware that Wayne’s feud with Cash Money is far from over he admitted that the masters for the completed Carter V are in his possession but will not be released until he settles his dispute with Cash Money. Birdman, on the other hand, still insists Tha Carter V will be released in 2017 and has pretty high hopes for him and his son. “Me and Wayne will be aight,” he told Billboard in February. “I’mma make that work. That’s my son and I love him, and we’ll make it happen.”

We just hope someone makes something happen sooner than later.
