Find out how many copies he sold first week.
By remaining at Number One, More Life became the first album since Drake’s Views in June 2016 to top the charts for three straight weeks, Billboard reports. Views spent nine straight weeks at Number One, and 13 non-consecutive weeks total.
Of More Life‘s 136,000 copies sold this week, only 16,000 of that total came from traditional – in this case, downloaded – album sales. The remaining 120,000 copies were mainly culled from SEAs, or streaming equivalent albums, more evidence of streaming’s hold on the music industry.
Whereas only one new release impacted last week’s charts, this week found three newcomers cracking the Top 10: Nineteen-year-old Florida rapper Kodak Black’s debut LP Painting Pictures led the way with 71,000 copies, with 51,000 SEAs in that total. The rapper has been behind bars in a Broward County jail since late February after violating the terms of his house arrest.
Mastodon’s Emperor of Sand landed at Number Seven with 41,000 copies, giving the heavy metal group their third Top 10 LP. Christian rockers MercyMe placed tenth with Lifer.
Ed Sheeran’s Divide increased its string of Number Two finishes to three straight weeks as the singer’s latest sold 80,000 total copies. The rest of the Top 10 featured Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic at Number Four, a pair of Disney soundtracks – Beauty and the Beast and Moana – at Numbers Five and Six, respectively, Future’s self-titled at Number Eight and Migos’ Culture at Number Nine.
Thanks to Kendrick Lamar postponing his new album’s arrival by one week, More Life will face the Chainsmokers’ Memories… Do Not Open and Joey Bada$$’s All-Amerikkkan Bada$$ for the battle of next week’s Number One.

What have you been up to?
I’m working on a new movie called Canal Street. And I’ve been trying to get here [perform]- between filming my new movie, filming the third season of ‘Empire’ and my mom has the number one book on Amazon. So we got a lot going on.
What I’m promoting is good energy, no violence- put the guns down. We got a foundation called YTG – You’re The Greatest, to give back. You an become a professional actor but you can always give back, using my platform for good.
What albums of all time would you give five mics to?
I’d probably give it to Nas‘s first album- then Jay Z. I’d give five mics to Beyonce, Kanye West and Lil’ Wayne and Nicki Minaj.
Catch “Empire” Wednesday nights on FOX 9:00pm/8:00pm.
Now all we need is a release date.
This is the second time this year.
